Deer hunting at Petyt Creek has been extremely limited in the past which is great news for you, and means that there are a good number of mature bucks in the area. In order to keep this number in check, our deer hunts are very limited. Our goal is to provide a quality deer hunt to each of our clients, not only for this season, but for many seasons to come. We at Petyt Creek don’t believe in boasting about guarantees of seeing trophy class deer, as there are no guarantees when it comes to deer hunting. We can vouch that there are definitely trophies in the area, and that we will do our best to put you as close as we can to them.

You will have the option to sit in one of our many tower stands, or hunt from the ground in an area of your choice. Our blinds are all 10’ tall, are a comfortable 4’ x 6’ in diameter.

These blinds will take the chilly Kansas wind off you neck, and allow you to concentrate on seeing game, all while containing some of your scent from the bucks sensitive nose. Check out our trail cam section to get an idea of what may be sauntering past your stand.

You will be hunting the firearm season here in Kansas which generally begins in Early December. You may catch an occasional strangling buck pushing a doe at this time, but, for the most part you’ll be hunting post rut, and on feeding patterns.

Our hunts are semi-guided hunts as you’ll be responsible for transportation to and from your stand locations. Should the Deer God’s smile upon you, a 4 wheeler and assistance can be provided to help you load and care for your trophy. Detailed maps of the area and your stand location are also provided for your benefit.
